MA’OR/IKAR of Judaism Open Hevruta Learning in LA

PrintFriendly

If you are in the Los Angeles area, I totally recommend checking out Ma’or. Tamara and I have been regulars for over a year and we both really enjoy it. They put together great (and I should add FREE) learning events, which are also a nice way to meet new people. I’m actually in the process of trying to get Rabbi Scott Perlo, one of the main people behind Ma’or to do an interview for our forth coming Podcast series but I digress.

Anyhow it looks like Ma’or are doing things a little different this year. In the past they’ve been something of a moveable Beit Midrash, floating around town with events held at an assortment of area shuls. However for whatever reason, this year it looks like Ma’or are teaming up with Ikar and it would seem that most of this year’s events will be held at one location. I have mixed feelings about the change, because I really liked having the opportunity to checkout shuls and communities, I don’t normally get to see. I was also hoping they would be having at least one event hosted in my part of town this year. Who knows maybe they still will!

As mentioned above, this a great opportunity. So if you’re in the area come and check it out.

Hope to see you there.
